Do you want to develop towards management and governance – without leaving the core of the cultural school?

The cultural school is part of Culture Sundbyberg, the unit that works with culture for all ages. Approximately 30 teachers and cultural producers work at the cultural school with music, dance, theater, visual arts & design, circus, El Sistema, Aggregat, Level up, Fredagsfunk, and Galleri Ung. The activities are conducted in well-adapted premises.

The culture and leisure sector is LGBTQ-certified, and we expect you to want to work with us to create an inclusive environment.

Through course activities, open creative activities, holiday activities, youth-driven events, and El Sistema, the cultural school contributes to providing meaningful leisure time for children and young people aged 4-20 in Sundbyberg and Solna.

About the assignment

Are you a cultural school teacher curious about how the operations connect beyond the classroom? Do you want to understand and influence how planning, communication, administration, and pedagogy interact?

As a cultural school coordinator, you will play a central role in the everyday life of the cultural school. The assignment combines practical, operational work with coordination, structure, and development. You will work closely with management and educators to create conditions for quality, flow, and clarity throughout the organization.

This is a role for you who want to test, develop, or deepen your competence in management and governance within the cultural school – without losing contact with students, educators, and the creative context.

Your practical assignment

You will work on planning and coordinating events together with the deputy cultural school manager and educators, be responsible for administrative processes such as courses, schedules, attendance, and follow-up in the Actor platform, act as a contact person for students and guardians, convey information, provide support and feedback, assist the organization operationally during teaching and events, document and make visible the work of the cultural school through photos, films, and shorter texts on social media, and participate in meetings and development work.

Qualifications and personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is a trained cultural school teacher, has experience from cultural school activities, and is interested in how the organization is led, organized, and developed. We would like you to have experience as an educator from cultural school activities.

You have good digital competence and find it easy to use administrative systems, the ability to create structure in a day with many parallel processes, good communication skills – in meetings with children, young people, colleagues, and guardians, and a genuine interest in cultural pedagogy and the creativity of children and young people.

As a person, you are independent, solution-oriented, and collaborative, proactive, and confident in the role as a link between educators and management, curious about responsibility, context, and the whole.

The role of cultural school coordinator is a strategically important function in the organization. You contribute to freeing up time for pedagogical core activities, strengthening communication and coordination, and developing professional and sustainable working methods.

For the right person, this assignment can serve as a developmental step towards future leadership roles within the cultural school or cultural administration.

The position is temporary from February 1 to December 31, 2026. The scope is full-time primarily during the day, but evening and weekend work may also occur. Start date is February 1 or as agreed. Apply by January 23, 2026. Interviews may begin before the application deadline.
